Rapunzel meets Jane Eyre in the epic conclusion of this fairy tale romance!

Grayson Eyre has left her old life behind. She’s no longer stuck serving Lady R, a sadistic Rapunzel from the Lowood clan of elves. Instead, Grayson now teaches at the Thornfield home for shifter orphans. Even better, her boss is none other than the sexy alpha, Dex. It’s all good until a mysterious witch, Jocasta, appears in a nearby tower, demanding that Dex and Grayson discover the true nature of all Rapunzels. If not, Lady R will return to claim Grayson… and Thornfield will be wiped out by the evil Prism Master. Can Dex and Grayson discover the truth in time? And what will it mean for their growing attraction?

~Playlist~

As part of the launch tour for my new book, MIRRORS AND MYSTERIES, the lovely folks at So Many Books, So Little Time asked me to share the playlist that inspired this book.

So without further ado, here goes!

Tune One. “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton

There are two antagonists in MIRRORS AND MYSTERIES. One is the Prism Master, an evil elf who’s king in his own mind… and whose over subjects who are really over him. One tune that inspired me to write in the Prism Master’s attitude is this particular song.

Tune Two. “Zero” by Imagine Dragons

Our heroine, Grayson, is constantly being told she’s ugly, lazy, and useless. It’s not true, but over the years, Grayson takes that stuff seriously. Yet no matter how low Grayson gets, she never loses her own inner strength. This song, Zero, encapsulates that idea and helps me get in the zone to write Grayson’s voice.

Tune Three. “This Is The One” by the Stone Roses

This song is the perfect accompaniment for when I’m writing scenes about Dex and Grayson. These two are meant for each other, and this song has just the right mix of joy and sexuality… love it!

Tune Four. “Hair” from Hair

In this book, there’s a lot of hippy-dippy stuff about what it means to be beautiful inside versus outside. Hey, I was born in the year 1969 and this stuff is just in my DNA. There’s no better way to celebrate that vibe than this particular song.

Tune Five. “Solsbury Hill” by Peter Gabriel

Our heroine, Grayson, must rebuild the foundation of her life and grow in a new direction. There is no better song to celebrate this change than Solsbury Hill.

So there you have it; my fave tunes while writing MIRRORS AND MYSTERIES! I hope you enjoyed this list and I hope to see you on a future tour!

~Author Bio~

Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.

Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
